Mike and Jenn: Righteous Rockers

Mike and Jenn are a powerful couple. Their love for God goes before them, the first thing you'll notice about them is the fire in their eyes.

These two rockers have quite a story, God has saved them out of some hefty stuff and uses them mightily too. They sing and play in the Christian rock band, Upperdeck. A band that does more than just sing about Jesus - a band that actually lives it.

At the end of this summer, Mike and Jenn decided to put together a benefit concert with Upperdeck and a slew of other Christian rock bands -180 out, Mason Summers, A New Awakening, Letters in Ink and more to raise money for the Love Maputo Project and to help reach out to kids for the Lord here, as well as in Mozambique.

A powerful way to share the gospel, play awesome music, and reach out to the world using the talents they already had.

“What struck it for me was that my heart is in Africa because our first mission trips were in Africa. We’ve been there we know what the conditions are like. So, when I found out that there was a chance to use our music to help people in Africa, I had to be a part of it.  That’s what we’re called to do; we’re called to help people. That’s not just a church answer, that’s how we’re supposed to actually live.” – Mike Gottselig

“In reality, there are lots of people that need help. For me, well... my heart is in Africa. You’ve just got to pick organizations that have means to help and just do it. You can talk about it all day long but doing it is a different thing. We wanted to actually do something. JESUSpolitik gave us the chance to use our talents to do that!" – Jenn Gottselig

The benefit, called "The World Speaks" is taking place on Saturday, September 13th from 11 am - 7:00 pm at Gray's Beach in Marbury, MD. There will also be some local evangelists speaking, as well as Melissa Davis from JESUSpolitik. It's gonna be a rockin' good time and an annual event!
