Jonathan Stutzman: Taking the world by the eyes
We
are living in a visual age. Marketers, manipulators and
movers of society know that the fastest way to reach the
heart is to come in through the eyes.
Jonathan Stutzman knows that so much of what moves us comes in through our eyes before entering our heart.
"They
saw it all on their plasma televisions sets...the empty eyes, the tiny dust
covered feet and brilliant white smiles...they saw the death and deterioration
of the streets and stores on movie screens. In magazines they saw life being
ripped away by disease, war and empty stomachs. They saw all this... and they
closed their eyes."
- Jonathan Stutzman
Jonathan is a grad student working on a film that will move you -"Love, Open Our Eyes" about the Love Maputo Project in Mozambique. He documents the journey of 3 boys as they struggle to live and survive on the streets of Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique. More than half of the population of Mozambique is under 18 years old. Many kids turn to prostitution, drug dealing and stealing to survive.
Watch their lives transform from street kids living in alleyways with no hope, then witness the change that comes as they give their lives to the Lord and are ultimately reunited with their families.
See the faces of the children and the workers you can help through JESUSpolitik and the Love Maputo Project in Mozambique. Your eyes and your heart will open to their situation, and also to the potential inside of you that can meet their needs.
The film is in the works and coming soon, so check back for more info.
