Tricia: Journalism for Justice's Sake
Tricia
came into chapel one morning, tired, just like any other
morning... but that didn't last long.
Melissa Davis from JESUSpolitik was speaking at her school's chapel that morning about the need to fulfill our callings, to use the gifts we have to help the people around us, to give up our ideas about what WE think God wants us to do and to instead seek God for what HE wants us to do.
Then Melissa talked about the Love Maputo Project in Mozambique.
Tricia knew she had to get involved.
She's a young journalism major, she wants to use her writing to make a difference in the world... but she doesn't want to have to wait another four years before meeting the needs of kids that may be gone by then if they aren't helped immediately...
What could she do?
Afterwards they talked and set up a time to meet and get into the nitty gritty details of the situation in Mozambique and the reality of the needs there.
What resulted was a beautiful article about JESUSpolitik, the Love Maputo Project and how people can get involved. She even got to use it as a paper for one of her journalism classes!

It's simple - take the gifts, interests, talents and hobbies that you already have and begin to use them to help the people being reached by JESUSpolitik projects. You can get ideas off our Do Something page or come up with your own. Then, let us know and we'll help you along the way!
