Art & Photography

If you like art and photography, you may be interested in putting on, or getting some of your friends or fellow art & photography students to help you put on, a social justice art show.

You could put up posters (which we’d be more than happy to make for you, if you’d like) asking other artists, photographers, sculptors, etc... to submit work for display or sale that reflects the need overseas, need for Jesus, need for help, and even, specifically the needs being met by the Love Maputo Project in Mozambique.

You could get permission from your school to set it up in a lobby or hall, a high traffic area where you know you’d attract attention of the students. We could get you some pamphlets to have set out and a free copy of the mini documentary of the ongoing work in Mozambique to have playing. You may be able to swing getting chapel credit for the event.

Some of the artists could sell their work (if they wish) to raise money to help feed, clothe, and save these kids. You could also easily set out a donation jar for people attending with a suggested donation of a dollar or so. Every little bit helps.

If you snap some pictures of the event, get some quotes, or even video clips, we’d love to put it on JESUSpolitik.com as an activism story to fire up more people to use their art for God.

If you think God can't use artists, think again! Some of the most influential people in the Bible were artists! Solomon painted and overlaid altars in gold and precious gems; he carved beautiful flowers in the temple he built for God. The Lord used his art mightily to touch other people. He can use your art too, if you're willing!
